On Wednesday, the X account of Zach Witkoff, co-founder of World Liberty Financial, was hacked, leading to the promotion of a fraudulent meme coin project associated with Barron Trump, the youngest son of President Donald Trump. The hacker claimed that “Trump should confirm the news soon,” misleading users on social media.

World Liberty Financial, a decentralized finance project that launched its own token, WLFI, in October 2024, quickly identified the breach.

In a statement, the company confirmed that Witkoff's account had been compromised and urged users to refrain from engaging with the unauthorized project.

This incident is not isolated, as it follows a similar occurrence in late January when Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump's daughter, alerted the public about a fake meme coin project that used her likeness without authorization. Ivanka Trump expressed concern that the project had defrauded investors out of their “hard-earned money.”
World Liberty Financial has ties to the Trump family, listing several members, including Barron Trump, as part of its team. The firm is working diligently to resolve the hacking issue and to protect its users from potential scams.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether any legal actions will be taken in response to the hacking incident or the promotion of the fraudulent meme coin.

The situation remains under investigation as World Liberty Financial aims to restore trust and security within its community.
