The Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has listed global investment manager VanEck's spot Ethereum exchange-traded fund (ETF) under the ticker symbol "ETHV." The DTCC, a prominent American financial market infrastructure provider, offers services such as clearing, settlement, and transaction reporting to participants in the financial markets. This listing is considered a crucial milestone before obtaining final approval from the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Although VanEck's ETF is currently listed as inactive on the DTCC website, indicating that it cannot be processed until it receives regulatory approvals, it is worth noting that it is not the first Ethereum ETF to be listed by the DTCC. Franklin Templeton's spot Ethereum ETF secured a listing on the platform a month ago.

The DTCC's ETF list comprises both active ETFs that can be processed and ETFs that are currently inactive and awaiting regulatory clearance. Additionally, reports suggest that SEC officials have reached out to major exchanges like Nasdaq, the Chicago Board Options Exchange, and the New York Stock Exchange to update and modify existing applications for spot Ether ETFs.

The final deadline for the SEC's decision on VanEck's spot Ether ETF application is May 23. The SEC's request for financial managers to amend and resubmit their 19b-4 filings for proposed spot Ether ETFs was seen as a positive sign by some analysts, increasing the potential likelihood of approval from 25% to 75%
