The EFCC, Interpol, and Kenyan police are negotiating the extradition of the Binance executive. 
Local media <a href="https://businessday.ng/news/article/kenya-police-to-extradite-fleeing-binance-executive-to-nigeria/" target="_blank" rel="">reports</a> that Kenyan law enforcement agencies will hand over Binance executive Nadeem Anjarwalla to the Nigerian authorities within a week. 
Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/Interpol/" target="_blank" rel="">Interpol</a>, and the <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/Kenya/" target="_blank" rel="">Kenya</a> Police are in the final stages of negotiations. Details regarding the extradition process are expected to be ironed out in the coming days.

Law enforcement agencies believe exchange employees are responsible for the company’s actions and may act as defendants in lawsuits. 
However, it was later reported that Anjarwalla’s wife denied claims of her husband’s extradition. Law enforcement agencies also did not confirm information about Anjarwalla’s extradition. 
Anjarwalla is <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/binance/" target="_blank" rel="">Binance’s</a> Regional Head for East and West Africa. At the end of February 2024, Nigerian authorities arrested him along with another employee of the exchange, the head of the company’s financial crimes department, Tigran Gambaryan. Top managers of Binance <a href="https://crypto.news/binance-executive-nigeria-money-laundering/" target="_blank" rel="">were accused</a> of tax evasion and money laundering. 
At the end of March, Anjarwalla reportedly <a href="https://crypto.news/detained-binance-executive-reportedly-escapes-from-custody-in-nigeria/" rel="">escaped</a>, using a Kenyan passport to leave <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/Nigeria/" target="_blank" rel="">Nigeria</a>. Nigerian security forces were able to calculate the location of the Binance representative, arresting the executive in Kenya at the request of the Nigerian Bureau of Interpol.
