 <p class="paragraph">In this regard, there is anticipation about Bitcoin’s future trajectory, especially considering the digital asset’s overall bullish trend leading up to the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="halving" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/halving.html">halving</a> event.</p>
 <p class="paragraph">In this context, an analysis by <em>CryptoCon</em> shared on X (formerly Twitter) on April 21 suggested that the conventional halving cycles theory may require reassessment based on Bitcoin’s price behavior surrounding the 2024 event.</p>

According to <em>CryptoCon’s</em> analysis, Bitcoin’s current record highs indicate a divergence from the anticipated pattern.</p>

 <p class="paragraph">Initially, prevailing sentiment held that the <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" title="halving" href="https://thebittimes.com/tag/halving.html">halving</a> would precipitate a period of consolidation preceding a substantial upward rally toward the cycle peak projected for 2025. Yet, the market expert observed that with Bitcoin already attaining new highs, speculation arises regarding the potential acceleration of the cycle, potentially culminating in a cycle peak by the conclusion of 2024.</p>

  <p class="paragraph">“What we usually see after the halving takes place is a small period of stagnation followed by the majority of the rally into the cycle top. But with price being at ATHs, the cycle may have been shortened to form a cycle top at the end of this year instead of 2025,” the expert noted.&nbsp;</p>

 <p class="paragraph">Furthermore, the analysis hinted at the likelihood of more positive price action in Bitcoin’s future, defying earlier predictions. In this case, the prospect of an accelerated cycle top raises questions about the underlying factors driving Bitcoin’s current surge and the sustainability of its upward trajectory.</p>
 <p class="paragraph">As it stands, Bitcoin seems to have shrugged off the potential fallout from geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which initially threatened to drive the cryptocurrency below the $60,000 mark. However, despite experiencing short-term gains, Bitcoin continues to trade within a range established over the past month.</p>
 <p class="paragraph">Indeed, these gains coincided with a surge in activity on the Bitcoin blockchain following the introduction of the Runes protocol. This protocol enables the minting of digital tokens atop the Bitcoin blockchain. The launch of Runes sparked a notable uptick, resulting in a noteworthy increase in Bitcoin transaction fees.</p>
 <h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-bitcoin-price-analysis">Bitcoin price analysis</h2>
 <p class="paragraph">By press time, Bitcoin was trading at $66,202, gaining by about 1.75% in the last 24 hours. On the weekly timeframe, BTC is down about 0.3%.&nbsp;</p>
