Toncoin

The TON Society has partnered with AI company HumanCode to implement an identity verification mechanism. 
According to today’s TON Society post, 1 million TON, valued at nearly $5.9 million, has been allocated for the initiative as an incentive for completing verification. The funds will be distributed among TON Society members, who will confirm their identity using a palm print. Anyone can join the community by linking a wallet.

HumanCode will provide human palm scanning technology for “a quick, highly accurate method for real-person verification.” The partnership aims to combat the growing problem of bots and introduce <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/Web3/" target="_blank" rel="">web3</a> identity to <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/Telegram/" target="_blank" rel="">Telegram</a>.

The Toncoin (<a href="https://crypto.news/price/Toncoin/" target="_blank" rel="">TON</a>) token’s <a href="https://crypto.news/toncoin-price-all-time-high/" rel="">price</a> increased by 10.5% to a record $5.90, an all-time high. As a result, its market cap reached $20.2 billion. 
In addition, in March, TON developers <a href="https://crypto.news/ton-open-league-launch-telegram/" target="_blank" rel="">announced</a> the distribution of 30 million TON for user participation in ecosystem projects. By April 1, the team began distributing coins to various users. 
A similar technology for personal identification was proposed last year by <a href="https://crypto.news/tag/Worldcoin/" target="_blank" rel="">Worldcoin</a>, a cryptocurrency <a href="https://crypto.news/what-is-worldcoin-the-iris-scanning-crypto-project-that-sparks-privacy-debates/" target="_blank" rel="">project</a> that confirms identity using iris scanning for free distribution of tokens. However, since its launch in July 2023, the project has been investigated in countries such as Germany, <a href="https://crypto.news/french-authorities-investigate-worldcoins-paris-hq/" target="_blank" rel="">France</a>, the U.K., and <a href="https://crypto.news/kenya-suspends-worldcoin-operations-over-security-and-data-concerns/" target="_blank" rel="">Kenya</a> for collecting user biometric data.
