<p>Co-creation Hub (CcHUB), the tech innovation centre, has today announced its launch in Tanzania to expand its African operations. In a tweet via its official Twitter handle, the Centre said it had touched down and established its footprint further south of the continent.</p>

<p>The centre, which has demonstrated an exemplary degree of commitment to advancing the use of social capital and technology for economic success in Africa, would be looking to support the acceleration of creative and innovative ideas in its newest location.</p>



<p>The hub, arguably the largest innovation hub in Africa, also recently <a href="https://www.ripplesnigeria.com/cchub-launches-15m-fund-pool-to-back-startups-across-nigeria-kenya-2-other-stories-and-a-trivia/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">launched</a> a $15 million accelerator program called ‘The Edtech Fellowship Program’ to develop and fund 72 entrepreneurs in Nigeria and Kenya over the next three years.</p>



<p>Technext is yet to get an official statement from a company representative at the time of this report</p>

<h4 id="cchub-expansion-drive">CcHub expansion drive</h4>



<p>Co-Creation Hub (CcHub) was founded in October 2010 by Bosun Tijani and Femi Longe. Although it was created in 2010, the hub didn’t officially open as a social innovation centre until September&nbsp;2011.</p>



<p>A few years after its launch, CcHub launched a <a href="https://gc.fund/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Growth Capital</a> Fund. The fund is a social innovation fund for startups. Since its launch, the Growth Capital Fund has invested in several Nigerian startups, including <a href="https://technext.ng/2018/09/24/nigerian-healthcare-startup-lifebank-emerges-winner-2018-mit-solve-finals/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">LifeBank,</a> N27.1 million ($75,000); <a href="https://technext.ng/2018/10/29/vc-firm-microtraction-invests-in-riby-a-platform-making-cooperative-and-thrift-saving-easier/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Riby Finance</a>, N36 million ($100,000); <a href="https://technext.ng/2018/05/28/can-delivery-science-become-big-player-nigerias-big-data-industry/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Delivery Science</a>, N54.2 million ($150,000) and <a href="https://technext.ng/2018/11/06/edtech-platform-edves-gets-funding-cchub-chinook-capital/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Edves</a>, N21.6 million ($60,000)</p>



<p>As part of its mandate to support and contribute towards the growth and development of startups across Africa, CcHub has continually sort to help startups in various parts of the continent access and expand across new markets in the continent.</p>

<p>Recently. CcHub launched its <a href="https://cchubnigeria.com/co-creation-hub-extends-the-cchub-seedr-programme-to-botswana/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Seedr programme</a> in Botswana. According to it, the Seedr programme is a&nbsp;6-month acceleration programme&nbsp;for early-stage technology startups, in emerging ecosystems, with the potential to scale and create impact. </p>

<p>Also, in 2019, the innovation hub launched its ‘<a href="https://cchubnigeria.com/designlab/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CcHUB Design Lab</a> in Kigali, Rwanda. The Design Hub, which was the first of its kind, was established to become a leading creative space where its multidisciplinary team of product designers and engineers will collaborate with scientists and stakeholders globally to explore the application of emerging technologies that will solve Africa’s systemic problems in Public Health, Education, Governance and the Private Sector.</p>



<p>Just after the launch of the design lab, CcHub also <a href="https://technext.ng/2019/09/27/cchub-fast-becoming-africas-mega-incubator-with-acquisition-of-kenyas-ihub/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquired</a> the Kenyan tech incubator iHub. The acquisition of the Nairobi-based hub, which marked the hub’s expansion into Kenya, also strategically placed CcHub as one of the fast-growing mega incubators in Africa.</p>



<p>The hub continues to be a haven for startups and has seen more than 650 cutting-edge digital firms developed and launched with its support over the past ten years. These startups address societal concerns in Africa in areas like budget transparency, physical fitness, education, fintech, health care delivery, and sustainability.</p>
