The report reviews financial market developments, identifies potential emerging threats to U.S. financial stability, and outlines vulnerabilities in the financial system. It also provides recommendations to mitigate these threats and vulnerabilities.
The Council highlighted the robustness of the U.S. financial system and the stability of its banking sector. Recommendations in the report call for Congress to pass legislation enabling the orderly resolution of systemically important financial institutions.
Alongside, the Council pinpointed vulnerabilities in the nonfinancial corporate credit sector, advocating ongoing monitoring of credit risks.
